The SimuWHEELgt steering wheel box is designed to be an economical solution to adding a fully functional steering wheel to Direct Drive wheel systems based on the Granite Devices SimuCUBE control board. This steering wheel box interfaces directly with the SimuCUBE in a plug and play fashion and functions as part of the SimuCUBE when connected.

The SimuWHEELgt will not work as a direct USB system but can be used in conjunction with the PSUSB_28 or PSUSB_28lc for USB functionality. USB functionality is not needed when used with the SimuCUBE.

The SimuWHEELgt is designed to be compatible with a majority of standard real world steering wheels with 70mm or 74mm PCD. The paddle switch mount adjustibility allows for a range of wheel diameters from approx 300 - 350mm. Some flat wheels may need a spacer between the box and the wheel for proper clearance of the wheel grips. PS1004 Spacers are available to move the paddles further from the wheel rim for additional finger space.

Connection:
Connect the Included RJ45 cable to the X12 upper location on your SimuCUBE. When looking at the connectors this would be the Upper/Left RJ45 Input toward the Servo Connections. If you purchased the Sheilded Cable there is no difference in installation.

Paddle Adjustments:
To adjust the Paddle Switch mounting width you will need a TORX T-8 driver in order to remove the screws holding the rear plate and the paddles in place. This driver MUST be of a thin style, T-Handle, or standard diameter as a larger diameter 1/4" Insert driver will not fit to remove the paddle screws. Once opened there are four screws that hold the paddle mounting plates in place. To adjust their width you can use any of the three overlapping positions.

NOTE: DO NOT over tighten the screws as you may strip the plastic housing. Turn only so that there is a snug resistance and no play.

The integrated paddles switches are inspired by the 2011 Williams Formula One race wheel. The Paddle plates included are adjustable by 10mm on each side allowing for a wider fange of wheels from a minimum of about 260mm to about 310mm.

The SimuBOX_7c button box is designed to be a plug and play button interface for the SimuCUBE. The format of this box is designed in a manner that allows it to be easily used as a Black Box, Pit Stop Options, or General function control panel. The square design allows you to rotate the box in any manner to facilitate how you wish to have the buttons placed. The singlular button along an outside row allows for easy tactile indexing when used with Virtual Reality.

This box is designed to allow for three options for encoders such as Brake Bias, Traction Control, and Engine Mapping or any other combination of controls that would be better suited to a rotary style input. As well there is one Button input that is common accross all three encoders (press any encoder to initiate the button press). The straight design of the box allows for many mounting options, vertically or horizontally. The PSB_3e also allows for excellent Virtual Reality usage as it is easy to tactile index.

Software Set-up:
In the SimuCUBE Configuration Tool (version 0.11.1 or Later) enter the Analog and Button setup and select either the "Set X12 Upper for encoder use" OR "Set X12 Lower for encoder use" checkbox depending upon which port you have connected the PSB_3e to.

Connection:
Connect the PSB_3e to the SimuCUBE via a non-crossover standard RJ45 Ethernet cable to the X12 location (upper or lower) that you set for encoder use inside the SimuCUBE Configuration Tool. When looking at the connectors this would be the vertical pair of RJ45 Inputs (on the left) toward the Servo Connections.
