The PSFSS Fanatec Safety Switch is designed for use with the Fanatec DD1 and DD2 Direct Drive wheel systems. This Emergency Stop style switch is user selectable to provide the traditional Fanatec Emergency Stop power cutoff (OR) it can be programmed to disable the Torque Key limiting the power of the unit to the Low Power mode when activated.

When using the torque limiting setting, the PSFSS allows you to retain control of the vehicle but at a significantly reduced force level to aid in being able to keep the car on the track and out of the way.

In addition to the Emergency Stop functions this unit provides a remote power button and status LED so that you no longer need to reach behind the Direct Drive unit for power. The PSFSS is fully compatible with the Torque Off feature introduced with the Fanatec Firmware V345.

The design of the the PSFSS complements both the DD1 and DD2 units and is easily mounted using M5x10 screws with the integrated attachment points on the back of the unit. The dimentions of the PSFSS were chosen to complement use with 80/20 rigs and the optional mounting plate (PSFSS_m) allows the switch to be mounted flush next to 40mm section.

NOTE: For DD2 Owners, This unit replaces the existing Emergency Stop unit and adds the Torque Limiting Functionality.

The PSFSS is the Graphite version of this unit. If you are interested in the G10 please look to the PSFSSlc.

Connection:
Connect the Included RJ12 cables to the E.STOP (black wire) and T.KEY (silver wire) locations on the PSFSSlc. Route wires together to the back of your Fanatec DD Unit and plug the Black Wire into the E.Stop location on the back of your unit. Remove the Torque Key from your DD if not already removed and plug the silver wire into the Torque Key location. Place original torque key in a location where it will not be lost as it is not needed for this set-up but may be needed in the future.

NOTE: In order for the PSFSS to function, BOTH connections must be made to your wheel base if only one or the other is connected the PSFSS will not function.

Setting the Emergency Stop Protocol:
To activate Torque Limiting mode set the switch on the back of the unit to the LIMIT position. If you wish for the the standard action of the Emergency Stop to be used (Power "off" with activation), set the switch to the OFF location.

Using the PSFFS Safety Switch:
When you get into a situation where you feel that you need a reduction or removal of power (depending on your setting) press the Red Emergency stop button. To reset the button after use turn the button cap slightly to the right and it will disconnect and pop into pre-activation state. After reactivation you will either need to Power the Direct Drive Base back "on" or confirm you wish to have Hi-Torque mode enabled by selecting OK on your wheel (via wheel button or 90deg wheel turn).

To turn the wheel base "on" press the power button momentarily. To turn "off" the wheel base, press and hold the power button for at least 1 second. With the Fanatec Driver V345 and beyond, Fanatec has added a Torque Off feature that can be acivated by momentarily pressing the power button while the wheel base is "on". This Torque off feature can be deactivated in the same manner as it was turned on.

This mounting plate kit provides a quick method of mounting the PSFSS Saftey Switch securely to an 80/20 rig. The Plate creates the correct offset to allow the PSFSS to sit flush against the side a 40mm 80/20 profile.

Screws are included to mount the plate to the Back of the PSFSS Saftey Switch but you will need 6mm Screws and T-Nuts for the attachment to your 80/20 rig.

The PSFSS Mounting plate can be used for other style mounting however is designed for optimal use with the 80/20 profile.
